Phone and Smartwatch Deals
-
Google Pixel 4 (Unlocked) for $598 ($201 off)—A Top Pick: The Pixel 4 matches the new Pixel 5 in several areas and fares better with performance. It's the only Pixel with face unlocking tech, and it'll get many of the camera and software improvements Google debuted in its successor. Google discontinued the phone, so stock is limited. If you don't need face unlock, our favorite Android phone right now is the $350 Google Pixel 4A, which isn't on sale, but is always a good deal compared to most phones.
-
Motorola Moto Edge (Unlocked) for $495 ($202 off): If you need a phone with two days of battery life, this is it. It also has great performance, a good camera system, 5G support, and a headphone jack. Read our review for more details.
-
Motorola Moto G Stylus for $240 ($60 off): If you need something basic that won't break the bank, this one has capable performance and decent cameras for the price. Plus, there's a hidden stylus inside. The Moto G Power is also on sale for $200 ($50 off) and it's perfect if you want more than two days of battery life. And if your budget is really tight, consider the Moto G Fast for $145 ($55 off). Its cameras are poor, but it'll serve you well for almost everything else.
-
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G (Unlocked) for $750 ($250 off): The latest Note phones are pretty great, but one knock WIRED senior associate editor Julian Chokkattu had was the price. Now that the standard Note 20 can be had for $800, it's worth considering if you're in the market for a phone with a stylus.
-
Samsung Galaxy S20 5G (Unlocked) for $750 ($250 off): Another great Samsung phone worth checking out is the Galaxy S20, which is one of the absolute best Android phones you can buy right now.
-
Samsung Galaxy A71 5G Phone (Unlocked) for $420 ($180 off): The A71 delivers good performance and a full day of battery life, plus a fantastic screen. The only things missing are wireless charging and water resistance, but if those aren't deal-breakers, this is an excellent price for a 5G phone.
-
Samsung Galaxy A51 Phone (Unlocked) for $325 ($75 off): The A51 was too expensive at its launch price, and while you might be better off getting the Google Pixel 4A, it's worth considering. Performance is decent, the cameras are OK, and you get three years of software updates.
-
Sony Xperia 1 with WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones for $750 ($550 off): Sony's 2019 flagship phone isn't as great as its 2020 one, but it's still powerful, with a great display and a capable camera system. You get a pair of our previous top wireless headphones included too. They were recently dethroned by Sony's successor, the WH-1000XM4, but they're still an excellent pair of noise-canceling cans.
-
LG V50 ThinQ 5G for $323 ($57 off): This is a 2019 flagship phone, meaning it's plenty powerful despite its drastically low price. You get all the bells and whistles like wireless charging, water resistance, a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The listing says it works on GSM network carriers, so you should be in the clear if you have AT&T or T-Mobile (that includes former Sprint customers). Don't expect the 5G to work as T-Mobile shut down Sprint's 5G infrastructure to redeploy it for its own network, but 5G is sparse anyway so you're not missing much.
-
Apple Watch Series 3 for $169 ($30 off): We've recommended the Series 3 for three years now, and we're not stopping any time soon. Sure, you're not getting all the new features, but it's still a good fitness tracker and smartwatch for iPhone owners. It regularly goes on sale, and you can also find this price at Walmart.
-
Fitbit Versa Lite for 70 ($89 off):Several Fitbit products are on sale. I (Adrienne) selected one of Fitbit's other Versa smartwatches for our list of the best fitness trackers. This is the cheapest version, which is still excellent—and even more so at this price. The Fitbit Versa 2 ($128, $52 off) is also a decent pick at this price.
Tablet and PC Deals
-
Microsoft Surface Pro 7 for $1,100 ($300 off) at Microsoft's Store: This is a good deal on Microsoft's best hybrid tablet/laptop. It offers the Core i5 chip, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and a 256-gigabyte SSD. You can also get $30 off a Type Cover, and you definitely want a Type Cover.
-
Apple MacBook Air 13-Inch for $850 ($150 off): See the extra $50 off at checkout. If you strictly want a MacBook, the 2020 Air model is your most affordable pick right now. You can read more about it in our review. There's a chance it could go on sale again during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but that's just speculation on our part.
-
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Tablet for $175 ($175 off) at Samsung: Need a cheap Android tablet? This one's a step up from Amazon's Fire tablets, offering a little more power and access to the Google Play Store. Read our review for more details.
-
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 13 for $941 ($59 off): It's not a huge savings, but the Galaxy Chromebook (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is currently our favorite luxury Chromebook. The solid, lightweight aluminum body has a build quality that surpasses most of the Windows laptops I've tested, and it has the nicest (4K!) display of any Chromebook you can buy.
-
Google Pixelbook Go for $1,199 ($200 off): The Pixelbook Go is one of our favorite Chromebooks. It’s lightweight at 2 pounds, has a fantastic keyboard, and the battery easily lasts through a full day of work. The deal is on the high-end model, which gets you an Intel Core i7 with 16 gigabytes of RAM and a 256-gigabyte hard drive—enough power to really make Google's lightweight ChromeOS sing.
-
Apple iPad (Newest) 128 GB for $399 ($30 off): This generation of the Apple iPad just came out last month. It has support for Apple Pencil, a large screen, and an A12 Bionic chip. It isn't our favorite—we like iPad Air better—but this is nearly the best deal we've seen. Note that your order will not ship until Amazon receives more stock, currently projected to be in early December.
-
Apple iPad Mini for $350 ($50 off): This is one of the best deals we've seen for the iPad Mini. We recommend this petite iPad for travel, for small hands, or for writing and drawing, since it has Apple Pencil support. Stuck on which iPad to buy? We have a guide to all of them here.
-
LG 34-Inch Ultrawide Monitor for $450 ($100 off): Many of the folks on WIRED's Gear team use ultrawide monitors with 21:9 aspect ratios because they're better for multitasking. They're wide enough to fit two sizable browsers side-by-side, effectively getting you close to the real estate of two computer monitors for one. This one's high resolution with a high refresh rate and low latency. It's HDR10 compatible too for a more color-accurate movie-watching experience.
Deals on Amazon Products
As usual, Amazon has slashed prices on many of its own house-made products and services, including smart speakers and screens, and even discounted memberships to premium services like Kindle Unlimited. We've included a few of our favorites here, but read our roundup of the best Amazon device deals for more.
-
Buy $40 in Amazon Gift Cards, Get $10 Free—Click "Apply Code to Your Account": This Prime-exclusive deal is sort of a no-brainer if you are planning on spending $50 at Amazon before the end of the year. You shouldn't feel pressured, but if you frequently shop at Amazon, this is like getting $10 for free. The $10 credit will be applied to your account within two days and the credit expires at the end of 2020. This deal works with physical and digital gift cards.
-
Kindle Paperwhite for $80 ($50 off): The Paperwhite is our favorite Kindle for most people because it's got a better display than the base model and is IPX8 rated for water resistance, which means you don't have to be worried about taking it in the tub. Note that it will be back in stock on November 10.
-
Kindle Kid's Edition $75 ($35 off): The new Kid's Edition Kindle is a solid ebook reader. The key difference between this and the standard Kindle? You get a two-year guarantee that Amazon will replace the device if your kid breaks it. There's also a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ (formerly called FreeTime), and the tech giant excludes games, ads, and voice assistants. It isn't waterproof.
-
Fire HD 10 for $80 ($70 off): The Fire HD 10 is the most expensive Fire tablet Amazon makes. It has more storage, runs quicker, and has the best display of them all. This deal is on the 32-gigabyte model with ads. Note that these will be back in stock on October 31.
-
Fire HD 8 Kids Edition for $80 ($60 off): We've always thought Amazon's kid tablets are bargains, with a rugged case and a very generous two-year worry-free guarantee. The biggest difference between the new Fire HD 8 Kids and previous versions is longer battery life, a USB-C port—oh, and renaming the FreeTime Unlimited Platform to Kids and Kids+.
-
Eero Home Mesh Wi-Fi System 3-Pack for $174 ($75 off): WIRED Reviews Editor Jeffrey Van Camp purchased this system earlier this summer for $250. We've seen it at $160 before, but it's rarely this low. If you have a larger house, or your internet modem is in a corner of it and you have trouble getting stable Wi-Fi everywhere, Eero is an easy fix. You just place the three nodes (or add more) in different zones of your house to stitch together a more stable Wi-Fi network.
-
Echo Studio High Fidelity Smart Speaker for $150 ($50 off): Amazon's Studio smart speaker is for the audiophile who wants Alexa, but doesn't want to sacrifice sound quality. It's got 350 watts of power and a downward-firing subwoofer that pumps out more low end than most other speakers this size. It even listens and adjusts the sound to fit your particular space, which makes it great for smaller rooms like home offices.
Home and Kitchen Deals
-
iRobot Roomba 692 for $200 ($120 off): WIRED senior writer Adrienne So says any time an iRobot vacuum goes near $200, it's a great deal. Even though this is an older model, it still has a powerful motor, world-class navigation, and features like Dirt Detect. Take it from the person who tests all our vacuums; this is worth it.
-
iRobot Roomba 960 for $300 ($200 off): When I (Adrienne) first tested the Roomba 900 series, it was a revelation. The rubber brush never got stuck, the suction was powerful, and Dirt Detect sniffed out the gross spots in our carpets with creepy but appreciated accuracy. The only thing I didn't like was the price, and now they're much more affordable.
-
iRobot Roomba E6 for $299 ($150 off) at Walmart: Walmart has its own Roomba deal to compete with Amazon's. The E6 has a half-liter bin and a HEPA filter, and it works great in all but the largest spaces.
-
Instant Pot 6-Quart for $59 ($20 off) at Walmart: This isn't the best deal on this Instant Pot but it's some savings on the all-in-one electric pressure cooker. If you aren't cooking for a crowd, Amazon has the three-quart version on sale for $50 ($70). That model can serve as a yogurt maker in addition to the Instapot's usual tricks.
-
Anova Sous Vide for $139 ($60 off): This is about the best price drop you can find on this sous vide, which can help you ensure that tricky things like fillets are cooked perfectly every time. Writer Parker Hall has been using this gadget to get through quarantine.
-
AeroGarden Bounty Heirloom Salad for $250 ($150 off) at Best Buy: If you've gotten used to growing your fresh herbs and veggies through the summer, AeroGardens are an easy, countertop way to continue indulging your green thumb through a cold and gray winter.
-
Petcube Play 2 Wi-Fi Pet Camera with Laser Toy and Alexa for $179 ($20 off): Check in on (and occasionally play with) your pets in real time using this camera from Petcube, which has a laser pointer for your animals to chase. It also has two-way audio and sound/motion alerts, so you can chat with your pets from anywhere, and know when they're upset.
-
Dyson Cyclone V10 Stick Vacuum for $400 ($150 off): I (Adrienne) have a million robot vacuums, but nothing will ever match the convenience of a light, modular, wireless stick vacuum that can clean everything from rugs to high ceilings and your car. Dyson makes the best one.
-
Yeedi K650 Robot Vacuum for $160 ($60 off): Clip the coupon to see the deal at checkout. I (Adrienne) am currently testing this robot vacuum. It has performed surprisingly well given its low price point. It doesn't have mapping capabilities, but it also hasn't gotten caught by common robot vacuum traps, like my kitchen step. It has a long runtime of over 2 hours.
-
SodaStream Jet Sparkling Water Maker for $80 ($58 off):Trying to get rid of the La Croix cans that always fill your recycling bin? Check out this screaming deal on the SodaStream Jet, which makes pressurizing your own water easy, and helps save on all that can waste. -
Vitamix 5200 Blender for $450 ($100 off):A true discount on Vitamix blenders is hard to find. This deal matches the best deal we've seen for this model, which spins fast enough that you can make hot soups and sauces within its 64-ounce container. It cleans itself, too; simply drop in some soap and water and turn it on. This is arguably a better discount than you'd find on something like this renewed blender (also on sale) since, despite the heftier initial investment, you're getting a full warranty rather than a 90-day one. -
Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker for $85 ($64 off):Zojirushi's 3-cup cooker uses fuzzy logic to perfectly cook the grain of your choice. It's one of our top deals picks and the gear that's getting senior editor Michael Calore through quarantine.
Wellness and Outdoors Deals
-
GoPro Hero 8 for $300 ($50 off): Product writer Scott Gilbertson liked the latest iteration of the GoPro, which has new add-ons to make it easier for vlogging. It's also available at Best Buy.
-
Colgate Hum Electric Toothbrush for $60 ($25 off)—Discount at Checkout: Writer Medea Giordano loves the Hum toothbrush. The discount is applied at checkout.
-
Fujifilm X-T3 Mirrorless Camera With Lens for $1,399 ($501 off): It's not the newest model, but the X-T3 is a solid mirrorless camera selling for a big discount right now. With a quick autofocus and 0.3-second startup time, it's a great camera for street photography, especially if you don't need the latest and greatest features for capturing video. If you use the electronic shutter, you can shoot up to 20 frames per second, or get up to 11 frames per second using the mechanical shutter.
-
Segway Ninebot ES2 Kick Scooter for $471 ($117 off)—Click the Coupon Button: We haven't tried this particular Ninebot, but we've tried several others. The Ninebot is an extremely popular and reliable model. This version has a max weight of 220 pounds and goes up to 15 mph, with a range of up to 15 miles.
-
Disposable Face Masks for $8 ($22 off): In our face mask roundup, we confess that many of us are still using disposable masks. They're often the lightest, and most affordable, option available.
-
Fitbit Aria Smart Scale for $35 ($15 off): Fitbit's smart scale is now much, much cheaper than when we first reviewed it. If you already use Fitbit's app and are looking to track your weight, it's a good time to snag it.
-
Schwinn 130 Upright Stationary Workout Bike for $274 ($76 off)—Discount at Checkout: At this point, we're just happy to see any moderately-priced indoor bikes in stock at all, especially one with a much more reliable and durable magnetic resistance system, versus a physical or spring resistance system.
-
Dyson Airwrap Complete Set for $500 ($50 off): It's an expensive piece of hair tech, but if you've been eyeing the Airwrap, this is the best deal we've seen so far. It even includes every brush and wand attachment, rather than the hair-specific sets that run for $500.
-
Braun Electric Razor Series 7 for $140 ($60 off): Braun's foil shavers are some of the best you can buy. The last one we reviewed is a little newer, but this one has positive reviews across the web and it's waterproof. If you need to neaten up your Zoom face, look no further.
-
Tile Starter Pack for $40 ($10 off): You’ll get one Mate and one Slim Tile in this two-pack. Or you can opt for the Performance Pack for $45 ($15 off) which includes one Pro and one Slim.
-
D-Link Wi-Fi Smart Outdoor Plug for $40 ($10 off): This weatherproof smart plug is an easy way to power outdoor lights, heaters, movie projectors, and other outdoor gizmos for socially distanced gatherings.
-
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter for $15 ($5 off): If you're building a disaster kit to always have at the ready, a LifeStraw is a good inclusion. It filters contaminated water without batteries or other accessories needed.
-
Blueair Pure 411+ Air Purifier for $98 ($42 off):I (Adrienne) tested this bedroom purifier during the wildfires that choked Oregon. It kept my children's bedroom at a reasonable AQI during a time when the outdoor air quality was decidedly not reasonable. It also has a pretty small footprint, an array of attractive prefilters, and is almost silent on the lowest level. You can also get a twin-pack for a big discount. -
Conair Waterfall Pedicure Spa for $34 ($26 off):If you're looking to treat yourself, your own personal foot spa is probably much safer than the one you'd visit in a salon right now. This foot spa has temperature controls, bubbles, jets … the whole shebang. -
Celestron Nature DX 8×42 Binoculars for $119 ($95 off):If you've taken up birding as a quarantine hobby, you'll like these sturdy, comfortable, waterproof binoculars, which are recommended by reviewer Scott Gilbertson. They have coated lenses and 8X magnification—powerful enough to tell the difference between alien ships and weather balloons from a distance. -
Victorinox Swiss Army Chef's Bundle Knife Set for $49 ($30 off):Victorinox makes some of our favorite kitchen knives, and this bundle gets you two knives plus a honer for less than $10 more than you'd typically pay for a single chef's knife from this company. I, Louryn, would take one of these knives with me to a desert island. Even if I only got to bring one item.
Gaming and Streaming Deals
-
Sony 55-Inch A8H OLED TV for $1,300 ($1,000 off): Sony's OLED TVs are some of the most beautiful models on the market, and this 55-inch Bravia is no exception. Expect deep blacks and astonishing contrast, all for a whopping $600 discount. (Amazon shows a $200 discount for some reason, but it has been about $1,900 since mid-May.) The Google TV interface isn't as easy as Roku, but it's better than some smart TVs.
-
LG 55-Inch CX-Series 4K HDR OLED TV for $1,597 ($200 off): WIRED writer Parker Hall praised this 2020 model for its perfect black levels and amazing colors. It's a great TV if you plan on gaming with one of the upcoming next-gen consoles too, whether you're team Xbox or Playstation.
-
Roku Streaming Stick Plus for $37 ($12 off) at Amazon and Walmart: The Streaming Stick Plus is our favorite streaming device for most people. It works with HD or 4K HDR televisions and has dual-band Wi-Fi that has a longer range, but you'll want to check the back of your TV first to make sure your HDMI ports allow for a 4-inch object to stick straight out of them—an occasional hiccup for some.
-
Razer DeathAdder V2 Gaming Mouse for $56 ($14 off): I (Parker Hall) am currently editing links and searching for deals using this mouse, which has dutifully served me for years with no visible wear. The best feature? The two customizable side buttons, which I have made into "copy" and "paste" functions. Oh, and you can use the Razer desktop app to make the LEDs any color you want.
-
Blue Snowball for $89 ($10 off): If you're tired of using the crappy mic on your headphones, or the built-in one on your laptop, it might be time for an upgrade. This mic plugs in via USB and has a built-in tripod; it works great whether you're gaming, podcasting, or on Zoom calls.
-
Razer Tartarus Pro Gaming Keypad for $80 ($50 off): Gamers have been holding out on us. Adding a comfortable gaming mouse and an additional keypad can make your all-remote workday tasks go smoother.
-
Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition for $299 at Amazon and Walmart: This is not a deal, but it hasn't been easy to find this special edition Switch in stock. Grab it now if you like the look, but just know that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is not included.
Speaker and Headphone Deals
-
Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise-Cancelling Headphones for $298 ($52 off)—Our Top Pick: These are the best wireless headphones you can buy right now. They're comfy, sound great, have long battery life, improved mics, and the noise-canceling is exceptional, too.
-
Sony WHXB900N Noise-Canceling Headphones for $123 ($123 off): Sony's WHXB900N have slightly better sound and noise-canceling tech than the pair listed above, and they're about half off. If you need a pair of headphones to block out your screaming children, these might just be the ticket.
-
Powerbeats Pro Wireless Workout Earbuds for $175 ($75 off): We're huge fans of the Powerbeats Pro's comfortable clipped design and nine-hour battery life. If you're on iOS and need earbuds for your quarantine workouts, these are for you.
-
AirPods Pro for $199 ($50 off): We're big fans of the AirPods Pro for their impressive sound quality and noise-canceling abilities. If you've been looking for a great pair of earbuds to pair with your iPhone or iPad, this is a fairly decent deal. It's also available at Walmart.
-
JBL's Giant Bluetooth Boombox for $280 ($120 off): This massive Bluetooth speaker is the modern version of the boombox your parents toted around in the '80s. The rounded speaker comes with a built-in handle and is waterproof, so it can withstand any outdoor weather.
-
Yamaha YAS-109 Soundbar for $200 ($40 off): If you’re listening to your TV through its own speakers, it’s time to upgrade to a soundbar. Even without a subwoofer or separate surrounding speakers, a soundbar will improve your viewing experience. WIRED’s Parker Hall named this the best soundbar with a built-in sub. It also has Alexa so you can control it with voice commands.
-
Samsung 290W 2.1ch Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer for $198 ($32 off) at Walmart: Walmart has slashed prices on this simple 2.1-channel soundbar, making now a great time to upgrade your TV audio setup. We haven't tried this exact model, but we like a similar version from Samsung. It offers better bass and a more vivid soundstage than built-in TV speakers, by a long shot.
-
Bose SoundLink Revolve for $119 ($80 off): At this price, we can almost forgive the fact that this fun little portable speaker isn't waterproof and is pretty small. It sounds great, though. It's also on sale at Target.
-
Bose QuietComfort 35 II Noise-Canceling Headphones for $200 ($100 off): Bose's previous flagship noise-canceling headphones are seriously cheap this Prime Day, making now a great time to grab a pair to quiet the noises of the world around you (and to sound better on all those Zoom calls, thanks to onboard mics).
-
Sony WHCH710N Noise-Canceling Headphones for $88 ($108 off): They're not quite as great as the WH-1000XM4 (the best wireless headphones right now), but this more affordable pair of noise-canceling headphones from Sony boasts much of the same tech, and are steeply discounted.
Drone Deals
-
DJI Osmo Pocket Gimbal with Integrated Camera for $300 ($95 off): If you're tired of shooting video on your phone, consider grabbing this portable camera with a built-in gimbal from DJI. It's got much of the same tech you'll find in our favorite drones.
-
Samsung 256-GB MicroSD Card for $28 ($22 off): It's never a bad time to have more storage, especially if you've been shooting your way through quarantine boredom. These Samsung cards work well and are nearly half off.
-
DJI Mavic Mini Combo for $400 ($100 off):WIRED's resident drone expert, Scott Gilbertson, calls this the best drone for most people thanks to its small size, excellent stabilization, and nearly 30 minutes of flight time.
