Smart Home Deals
-
Roku Streaming Stick Plus for $37 ($12 off) at Amazon and Walmart: The Streaming Stick Plus is our favorite streaming device for most people. It works with HD or 4K HDR televisions and has dual-band Wi-Fi that has a longer range, but you'll want to check the back of your TV first to make sure your HDMI ports allow for a 4-inch object to stick straight out of them—an occasional hiccup for some.
-
C by GE Smart Room Starter Pack for $35 ($15 off) at Best Buy: We like all the C by GE products we've tested, and this bundle gets you four soft white smart bulbs and a smart plug for a pretty good price. They work with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
-
C by GE Smart Plug for $10 ($10 Off): If you aren't in the market for smart bulbs, you can also get the C by GE smart plug. It's simple to use and also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
-
Lenovo Smart Clock for $40 ($40 off) at Best Buy: Lenovo's Smart Clock is nice for the bedroom with its 4-inch display and alarm clock functionality. Though the screen is smaller than other smart displays, it can do almost anything other Google Assistant devices can do.
-
Echo Show 5 for $45 ($45 off): We prefer Google Assistant to Alexa, but this is the best price we've ever seen for Amazon's smaller smart-home display, the Echo Show 5. You can opt to include a free one-year subscription to Food Network Kitchen, a service we've reviewed that offers a myriad of tips and recipes. Note that these will ship by early November.
-
Fitbit Aria Smart Scale for $35 ($15 off): I'm not a fan of scales, but it's sometimes useful to track your weight. Fitbit's smart scale is now considerably cheaper than when we first reviewed it.
-
TP-Link Kasa Soft White Smart Bulb for $14 ($3 off): This bulb has a unique vintage look to it, good if you have lamps that put the bulb on display. It is only a dimmable white, so if color options are important to you, you may want to wait for other bulbs to go on sale. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
-
Anker Lightning Cables for $14 ($6 off): Did you know that the new iPhones aren't going to ship with chargers? Better stock up on cables and power blocks now.
-
Tile Starter Pack for $40 ($10 off): You’ll get one Mate and one Slim Tile in this two-pack. Or you can opt for the Performance Pack for $45 ($15 off) which includes one Pro and one Slim.
-
TP-Link Kasa Smart Plug HS103 for $9 ($5 off):WIRED Associate Editor Julian Chokkattu has several of these plugs around his home to control his lamps, and he says they rarely give him trouble. You can control them with Google Assistant or Amazon's Alexa.
Home, Beauty, and Hygiene Deals
-
Canon Pixma MG3620 Printer/Copier/Scanner for $50 ($30 off) at Target: When we're all at home more, it's helpful to have a printer. Life is easier when you can print your own shipping labels and legal forms, but there’s no point to spending a bundle on a home printer. The MG3620 isn’t exactly small, but it’ll copy, scan, and print in color and black-and-white.
-
Disposable Face Masks for $8 ($22 off): In our face mask roundup, we confess that many of us are still using disposable masks. They're often the lightest, and most affordable, option available.
-
6-Month Kindle Unlimited Membership for $30 ($30 off): Kindle Unlimited gives you access to millions of ebooks on demand. It's $10 per month (which is the rate it will renew at after your membership runs out), but you can get the first six months for $12 less. If you're not sure, you can try it free for three months. Don't have a reader? The Kindle is down to $60 ($30 off) at the moment, which is as low as it ever goes.
-
Superjare Dual Monitor Stand Riser for $29 ($4 off)—Click the Coupon Button: I've been using this monitor and laptop stand for several months and love how it looks on my desk. It keeps everything looking organized too.
-
NuDerma High-Frequency Skin Therapy Wand for $35 ($12 off)—Click the Coupon Button: You'll have to click the on-page coupon to activate this 25 percent off sale. I haven't tried this high-frequency wand (I've used the Skin Gym, which is about twice the price), but it comes with a bunch of useful attachments despite costing so little. High-frequency wands emit argon gas, which could help kill acne and stimulate circulation. It helped decrease the life of some of my most painful cystic pimples.
-
GhostBed Memory Foam Pillow for $40 ($45 off): I'm extremely picky with pillows, but I couldn't stop thinking about how comfortable I was after sleeping on this one at a friend's house. I bought it the moment I saw this sale. It's denser than most pillows, so it's not for everyone.
-
Logitech G603 Lightspeed Mouse for $50 ($20 off): The G603 lets you connect to your computer either through Bluetooth or Logitech's Lightspeed Wi-Fi, which comes with a wireless adapter that plugs into a USB port. On Wi-Fi, the response time is a mere one millisecond.
-
Mandalorian Echo Dot for $39 ($36 off): Given our collective obsession with Baby Yoda, I'm sure a creepy, faceless Baby Yoda Echo Dot must have made some sense? Anyway, it's on sale now.
-
Chef'n Citrus Juicer for $16 ($7 off): I (Adrienne) use this device a lot for squeezing citrus for sauces. It's also simple enough for a 5-year-old to use to make herself limeade in the mornings.
-
Zyllion Shiatsu Massager for $40 ($10 off): This is the deal that I (Adrienne) actually bought, because my neck and shoulders hurt from hunting deals for the past week. You will need to plug this charger in, but it's remarkably compact and can be strapped to a chair.
-
Hape Kid's Ukelele for $21 ($10 off): Is your kindergartener getting a little bored in quarantine? Time to give her a new hobby.
-
Herschel Fifteen Waist Pack for $22 ($10 off): This isn't one of our favorite fanny packs, but Herschel makes attractive, affordable cotton canvas bags that are fine for everyday use.
-
Coleman LED Lantern for $46 ($4 off): Coleman is our brand of choice for sturdy, reliable, entry-level camping equipment. This affordable lantern is weather-resistant and has a rotating dial to adjust the level of brightness.
-
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter for $15 ($5 off) If you hike, camp, or have a disaster kit at the ready, a LifeStraw is a good thing to include. It filters contaminated water without batteries or other accessories. They keep selling out during Prime Day, or going back to their original price. Walmart also had this deal.
-
Colgate Hum Electric Toothbrush for $46 ($24 off)—Savings Applied During Checkout:I really love this toothbrush after testing it. The rechargeable version is typically less on Colgate's site, but this price is still cheaper, so it's a welcome deal. Confusingly, you won't see the savings until the final checkout phase. -
FinalStraw Collapsible Reusable Metal Straw for $16 ($4 off):You can now enjoy drinks with a straw wherever you are, without adding to the plastic pollution. This set comes with a cleaning brush and small case, so you can keep it clean in your bag. -
Keurig K-Mini for $43 ($37 off):Keurig pods may be a little wasteful, but you can't deny they're convenient—especially now that we're all at home, applying a steady, slow drip of caffeine into our veins. This one has a remarkably small countertop footprint and a very good discount. -
National Geographic Mega Fossil Kit for $20 ($5 off):Assorted STEM toys and building sets are also 30 percent off. It's a good time to stock up on Legos for the holidays, but we're also intrigued by the affordable National Geographic STEM sets. This small fossil kit is a great gift for the young dinosaur lover in your life. -
Instant Pot 6 Qt in Vintage Floral for $49 ($50 off): This Instant Pot is inspired by vintage floral wallpaper. It won't suit everyone's aesthetic, but it's a great deal for an all-in-one electric pressure cooker. -
Stasher Reusable Sandwich Storage Bags for $9 ($3 off):The WIRED staff loves these reusable silicone bags. They last forever, are better for the environment than single-use plastic bags, and are dishwasher-friendly. The bundle is no longer on sale, but you can get just what you need if you're still interested. In addition to the sandwich bag mentioned, the 1/2 gallon is on sale for $15 ($5 off), the snack bag for $7 ($3 off), and the stand-up container for $15 ($5 off).
